Save Time on Social Media: Update All Your Profiles at Once with HootSuite.com

This video shows how to add your LinkedIn, Facebook Profile, Facebook Page, and Twitter accounts to HootSuite so that you can easily send (or even schedule) updates to all of your social networking profiles at once.

Transcript:

Hi, this is Laura Roeder of gethedash.com. Today I’m going to show you how you can add additional social networks to Hoot Suite in order to send out one message to all of your social media profiles at one time.

So, you can see I’m logged in here at hootsuite.com. That’s H-O-O-T-S-U-I-T-E dot com. Of course if you don’t have a free HootSuite account yet that would be the first step, but once you’re logged in you just want to click on Settings here at the bottom. Make sure you’re on that social networks tab, which you should be, and then hit Add Social Network. You can see they have Twitter, Facebook, Facebook pages, LinkedIn, Ping FM and at the time of this recording WordPress, MySpace and Foursquare are in beta.

So, you just choose the account you want to add, each one is a little different. You might be clicking this Connect button ore just entering your log and name and password, hit Submit, and then close the box. After you add your social accounts, you will able to select any accounts that you want when you send out a message right up here or even for scheduling messages ahead of time that can go out to all of your social networking profiles. It’s pretty cool. So again once you’re logged in you just need to click on settings here at the bottom and then click Add Social Network.

Again this is Laura Roeder from getthedash.com.

  1. I’m using HootSuite as well, and I’m very satisfied with it. So far, I’ve only been using it for Twitter. But I think, after viewing your video, I’ll be adding Facebook as well.

    Thanks.

  2. Hi Laura,

This is just what the doctor ordered…because you make it look so easy I’m signing up today.

    To Life!

  3. robert lönn says:

I agree with Andrew, you sold it to me:-)

I signed up and Twitter works like a charm but I cant seem to get facebook to work…..Does anyone else have this problem? I am using IE on win 7

  4. While I heart HootSuite a lot, I don’t want the people following me on Twitter and Facebook to be getting the same message. The whole point of being part of all these social networks is that the audiences differ – so better to personalize each one (say, targeted more towards my friends on FB, business contacts on LinkedIn and blog readers on Twitter)and spend 5 extra minutes a day doing that than being redundant to the handful of people that follow me on all of them.

  5. To the point and effective … well done.

I like the way you talked through, while you did your walk through, with clarity and precision.

  6. I love the ‘like’ button! So many people wouldn’t mind having an “I like . . .” on their wall vs. posting a link with an excerpt and all that jazz. The lazier for your reader the better! Now, I have to go make one.

  7. Love hootsuite.com! Thanks so much for all your info, I am just starting a new blog and you have been my savior in so many areas!

Thanks to you I just successfully updated my twitter, facebook profile and facebook fan page simultaneously!

    Keep up the great work!

  8. This will be a great time saver, Laura!

Can you actually set up a new account at a social media site using Hootesuite or do you do that at the specific social media site and then come back to Hootesuite to add it to your list?

  9. Thx Laura, was searching for something just like this, thx for sharing.

  10. Like Marian I personalise (most) of my social media updates to each outlet, but it still saves me a lot of time to be able to do them all in the same place (and, if I want to, at the same time)!
