“I KNOW I would not have gotten these kinds of results if I wasn’t live blogging the Famous in Five Challenge as well.” Famous in Five Challenge: Day 5

This is the fifth and final post in a series of posts as part of the Famous in Five Challenge. To catch up on Ann’s progress, start here

Famous In Five: Day 5 / Approx. Time to Complete: 23 minutes

When I started this challenge, I really had no idea what to expect. I am blown away! It has been such a privilege to live blog this challenge with you all on the LKR blog. This has been an incredible experience and I can’t wait to see what LKR comes up with next!

On the warm fuzzy side, I feel more confident in my brand “voice”, in sharing my story, and in reaching out to people online with pitches. Without this confidence, I would have a MUCH harder time with the action-oriented tasks it takes to go out and claim my fame.

The Famous in Five Challenge worked faster than I expected it to! If your results look anything like mine, we’re both making more money, getting more opt-ins, and earning more attention online.

Unconvinced? Let’s just consider the following stats:

  1. Since starting the Famous in Five Challenge, I grew my email newsletter list by 20 people. My list started out kind of small so this is amazing for only 5 days!

  2. I’ve been invited to be a panelist at a local conference and am already slotted to present 2 webinars for an online telesummit!

  3. An article of mine was accepted for an association newsletter, going out to over 5,000 professionals & decision makers!

  4. One of my pitches has already gotten back to me and wants me to guest blog for their site!

  5. There is a *waiting list* 10 people deep to schedule a free 15 minute strategy session with me.

  6. I’ve already made over $100 in sales without sending any sales emails! Considering I didn’t even offer products on my website until a week ago and the fact that I haven’t truly marketed them yet, this is an amazing result.

  7. 118 new Twitter followers! #ermahgerd

I KNOW I would not have gotten these kinds of results if I wasn’t live blogging the Famous in Five Challenge as well. If you’ve been blogging your own journey, make sure to comment with a link to your posts so we can all support you! If you haven’t completed the challenge or you started a little late, let me be your cheerleader and encourage you to stick it through. If you do, you won’t even believe the results you’ll get.

When Laura said in her video that she would make fame an inevitability, she wasn’t kidding.

Okay, so new plan: I’m definitely going to want to recreate my Famous in Five exercises at least once every month. Gotta keep that momentum going!

For those of you who’re curious where I’m sending pitches for Day 5, here’s my list:

  1. Successful Women Talk Podcast

  2. BrazenCareerist

  3. Escape from Cubicle Nation

Your turn! What’s happened in your business since you started the challenge? Are you already seeing results, too?

  1. That’s great, Ann – congrats!!! I did the challenge too and it taught me so much. Alexa – I had no idea!

    • Bask in your famous-ness, Nicole. I know you’ve already got a guest post accepted! Congrats! Can’t wait to see what’s next for you!

  2. Well, I was a bit short on time, but have done all 4 days except sending the emails (just cause I was too busy away from the computer), but I did get some new ideas. Even though I did some of those things before, pairing my strategy with what Laura sent out seems to be a great combo for me. It also showed me some holes in some of the things I was doing and made me think of better ones. So even though I am lagging with the challenge I think it is an awesome one and I plan to finish it. And rinse and repeat :)

  3. Wow, what great results! It’s hard for people to argue that this stuff doesn’t work when there are numbers behind it. But I think that it just goes to further prove that you have to put into your business what you expect to get. So many people still think that if they simply put a website up, their customers will find them. Congrats, Ann!

  4. WooHOO! congrats!!

  5. Congr8s and thanks for sharing your own experience with us. Looking for more to come from you.

  6. Wow, Ann, way to go! I was picked up by Bitter-Lemons.com, a Los Angeles theater blog (http://losangeles.bitter-lemons.com/2013/09/09/ok-we-get-it-macbeth-is-in-vogue-but-why-by-allison-volk/) and I got an interview with Logical Soul Talk coming up in October!

    This is so much fun.

Ann, you’ve been coming up with really great places to pitch your articles. Do you have any suggestions of how you track them down?
