3 Ways to Make a Lot More Money on Social Media This Week

You already know that without a doubt, social media is a routine part of our lives. In fact, I’m willing to bet that you’ve got Facebook open in another tab or running in the background on your phone right now!

But no matter how many selfies you’ve posted on Instagram or elderly relatives you’ve made worry via Facebook, what’s the real point of using social media for your business if you can’t pinpoint how it affects your bottom line?

You’ve read in business books, in magazines, and heard all kinds of experts say that social media is GREAT for business. Do you really know WHY and HOW?

Check out this infographic from Go-Gulf.com that lays out just how huge the impact of social media on businesses really is:

How Social Media Influence Businesses

Here’s what YOU need to know from this infographic and what to do about it:

  • 74% of the people surveyed admitted to having researched a company’s social networking accounts before making purchasing decisions. WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT: Get your social profiles in tip top shape! I’m talking about complete descriptions and incredibly compelling calls to action so that visitors will not only check you out but like your page, get on your list, and actually consider what you’re offering. Here are some resources for the Big Four in social media right now: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn.

  • Social media generates almost DOUBLE the leads for businesses when compared to trade shows, telemarketing, direct mail and PPC. WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT: You’ve got these free tools, so a HUGE part of your social media marketing plan should be about turning those likes, fans and followers into subscribers to your list! Check out this free workshop to get the step-by-step guide to turning likes into leads.

  • 81% of people surveyed reported that their purchasing decisions are influenced by their friends’ social media posts. WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT: Freak out? Nah. 81% is a huge number but this is manageable, even if your website isn’t optimized for social sharing. What you do need are social sharing buttons (like the ones you see on the left side of this post – that’s a WordPress plugin called Flare), and some very specific calls to action peppered throughout your site (and content) that you might have forgotten about.
